~ Remembrances~ Poem by Panagiota Romios

~ Remembrances~

Rating: 5.0

If only one wish had I,
It would be to see only a moonlit, star-studded
sky.
When this frenzied world is asleep and still.
Just the sound of the fish splashing happily in
the pond on the moonlit hill.

When nobody is running to and fro,
With news of the day, so very negative, bro!
I simply cannot take anymore prophets of doom.
I prefer drifting in poetic reverie in my magnolia
candle-scented bedroom.

To recall perchance, in a dreamlike state,
The intoxicating aroma of cherry blossoms in
another time and place.
To look at pictures of bygone days which like
enchantingclouds stealthily have drifted away.
Days of boundless joy, I will always treasure.

Of the many decades God blessed me to live,
far beyond human measure.
The endless seconds and minutes and years
ahead.
Not rushed, just to quietly pen more thoughts
in a room full of roses, intoxicating and of the
deepest red.
