Remembrance Poem by Matt Burgett

Remembrance

Lying here under the stars
Remembering how we would never fight
Remembering how you cuddled in my arms
Feeling nothing but utter delight

I remember how I felt
When you would stair into my eyes
When you would think you had it won
And then I would make you melt

Then the planets would Align
And everything would be right
As I would kiss you
Long into the night

When the night would come to an end
And I would kiss you long and true
You would lean back and say
I think I will keep you

So as I finish this here
And through all the memories
And everything we've been through
I still remember you
