Oh, don't do that to me- -do not leave me here wanting to know more. A beautifully sad poem about a beautiful time of life up until death dropped in out of the blue but it rarely is out of the blue is it? Writing like this will make your Kerouac book a best seller, my friend. 10+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Rajnish, I'm striving for objectivity. But I'm finding that I'm getting emotionally trapped. Especially with the poems about Gerard. Which isn't such a bad thing!

This is the loss of the garden in so far as the garden represents an ignorance of the real world, a privileged status of unthinking pleasure. Morally this is an indefensible life style once you know of the world's suffering. In WAITING FOR GODOT, a characters says, Was I asleep while the others suffered? Exactly - it's time to wake up and join with others to re-make reality, maybe not a paradise but truly a just place.
Daniel, Kerouac was an enigma. One minute completely indifferent, the next moved to a flood of tears. The more I learn and write about him, the more I understand how complex he really was.
