Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.

Value your husband, your wife, your kids, your friends, etc. for there will be a time, you will just remember them and if you were right with them, you wouldn't regret anything. Deep and beautiful poem.

This poem deals with the themes of love, death and loss and is an expression of Rossetti's way of dealing with the grief of losing someone you held very close to your heart. Beautiful poem, simple but so enchanting.

The poem has a certain sadness, but I like it very much. The refrain 'Remember me' is so right'. She imagines herself having gone away to the silent land of death-not too emotive but controlled. She is probably talking to her husband, who remains behind. The poem stays with me day and night.

A fine poem, from an earlier time (19th C) . Realistic reflections on death - offering comfort but not sentimental.

This poem provokes my thoughts on death and memory. When all memories of love and hate fade away, what are our evidences of existance? Love is the longlasting force that we try hard to prove its worth.
