I was the girl you would smile at.
I was the girl you would talk to.
I was the girl who didn't
Appreciate it as much as she should have.

Remember us?

We were there unlikely friends.
We were the ones destined to be more.
We were the ones who didn't
Think it would end so soon.

I remember you.

You were the boy who grew cold.
You were the boy who ignored me.
You were the boy who didn't
Smile again for a while.

I remember her.

She is the ones you smile at.
She is the one you talk to.
She is the one who gets
All of your attention now.

I remember hope.

Hope is the thing you gave me.
Hope is the thing that you took away.
Hope is the thing that
Comes and goes as you make it.

I remember joy.

Joy is the feeling I felt.
Joy is the feeling I lack.
Joy is the feeling I lost
Along with you.

I want you to remember.

You have to know what you felt.
You have to know what I feel.
You have to know that
Just because I'm too late, I don't have to be.

Just remember.
