There is one Supreme Creator who has created the whole universe.Different people call this Creator in different names..Humanism and kindness is the basic principle of almost all religions.Institutional religions very often deviate from the basic principle and become cause for the growth ok division and, hatred..A timely question for all of us to ponder.

A powerful perspective that is pregnant with positivity that if headed can bring transformation to some places and people who find themselves in bondage. Well done my friend!

State mandated religion is an affront to all peoples. In fact, I believe that all organized religions are in many ways corrupted from their original intent and are more divisive than unifying. Individual beliefs should always be respected and protected but as with any organization that has hierarchies and positions of power, religion is used and abused by those in such positions. The idea that there is only one true religion is the worst kind of ignorance and instilled from birth by zealous parents, societies and governments. That has always been dangerous. Some of the worst atrocities in human history have been committed in the name of religion and its particular god. Organized religion is just another man made way (Like politics etc.) of creating divides instead of unity. Valsa hit the nail on the head. Change for the better, love, compassion, forgiveness and peace start with the individual and unless we as a planetary society grow up and act as brothers, nothing will change.

Individual religious faith is good but if the individuals form a group based on their faith, then what will be the outcome...

From: Brian Johnston (Bay Area United States; Male; 72) To: Pranab K Chakraborty Date Time: 7/23/2015 11: 15: 00 AM (GMT -6: 00) Subject: Re: Re: Re Your letter on institutional religion... Say that Science could effectively destroy organized religion and not simply refine our understanding of God (as it seems to me to do) , do you think the world would really be a better place? Or would tribal passions and other diversions from loving one another continue to misguide humanity with much the same result as we see today? Descartes said 'I think therefore I am, ' but science teaches us more and more that animals we eat think as well, so what really distinguishes us from them? One idea I've toyed with is that human's put things into categories to simplify our lives, e.g., friends and enemies, girls and boys, vegetarians and non-vegetarians, which seems innocent enough until you realize that any category can be used to dehumanize another person. There is no religion involved and yet the potential for evil remains. Maybe you and I need to admit that possibly it is man's potential for evil, his 'sinful nature' as Christianity would have us believe, that explains the use of Scripture that roundly condemns violence, to be used to justify violence. If this is so then surely blaming Religion, institutionalized or not, for the evil we see in the world, is overly simplistic and would not really serve us (or humanity) in the end? One way to attack the problem might be to attempt to control the human population bomb by reducing the need to have a large family to try to give yourself some additional security in your old age for example? In experiments where large groups of rats are confined in a small space with scarce resources, all kinds of aberrant behavior begin to show up. Might it not be a mistake to blame religion for human behavior that can be understood or explained in other ways?

Actually religion came to man for a disciplined and valued life when his transformation to modernism was essential while starting the settled life. There he made the thoughts and different texts which unified the commune. But unfortunately the things are so different now and they are closed linked to the power structure of the state and no imminent escape for this ruin nowadays. In enlightened Budha's period he vacated the throne for ever for his preaching and saving humanity and never took back to the power. But unfortunately the great thoughts came into institutionalised and decayed the thoughts to certain extent. However the poem highlights the importance of individual beliefs and not institutionalised dogmatic thoughts. good.

To Honorable Poet Sebastian: God is not only love, people discovered God in ancient time as a creator, saver and destroyer. 'Pathway' perhaps not the religion, LOVE is the pathway to attain that Almighty. Religion is simply a constitution depends on socio-economic situations perhaps, so the constitution (religion) differs by community and people of geographical variances. Many religion means constitutions are many on the surface. I salute you because you have interacted by heart with this problem of the day. Thank you very much.

Religion must be the pathway to life eternal. To earn this eternal paradise man has to live a life that pleases God. God is love. If that be so, man must live God's love. He cannot say, I love god' and then hates his fellow men.. Institutions must feed and nurture this pathway of love so that man finds peace on earth and later, in heaven. If he has faith in this pathway and practices it, he feels life fulfilled. But then this 'pathway' is a relationship between God and man. For this reason, man will love one another because he loves God. God is love. Why then terminate the 'pathway'?

People are people. Religion is religion. Faith is faith. Love must be scattered above all.

This is a very controversial topic! It is not easy to take religious faith away from man, because he continuously find solace in faith in his religious affiliations to douse his fears of the present and the uncertainty. Institutional religions however are becoming somehow problematic because of human's animalistic desires. Individual religion will not, in almost similar situation, work because there will never be coordination and control. It is a sad situation! ! ! Thanks for sharing! ! !

Institutionalized religion, I fear, is doing more harm than good! Religion instead of fostering love and compassion among fellow beings has stooped to fanaticism and bigotry! I think more bloodshed is there in the name of religion than in any rebellion! Actually all religions teach the ways to righteous living and preach great values..... So religion in itself is not bad at all, but man is using religion to enjoy power and to mould people in a frame that will leave them blind! As long as man doesn't change, there is not going to be any difference even if religion is reinstated or abolished! Let man learn to love his fellow beings! From there change begins!

Individual belief never admit war by the name of the Almighty! Yes! ! That is the truth; but, mankind are now blinded with the muse of the so-called religious leaders on earth today. Nice work.
