I also wrote two poems of regret over a woman's long hair being cut, but for a different reason: she was preparing to undergo chemotherapy. See my poems: QUESTION FOR A WINDOW GAZER and AN ANSWER TO A WINDOW GAZER.

Hi Ms Jaishree, Loved reading the poem on shingled hair and the comfort we seek in the mother's aanchal.Life is like that and that is how we grow up- taking the responsibility of all our deeds. Only we need a mother's love to soothe the emotions. Beautifully penned.

Hair don't grow fast. Natural beauty is enough. Trying for artificial beauty kill the natural one. Great poem. Liked a lot.

This ability to create a beautiful poem out of an ordinary incident is commendable. Yes, the last line is indeed philosophical.

A lovely penning about how a child thinks and laments , specially when her so loving hairs were cut, of corse at the end her mother comforted her with a motherly affectionate smile. Enjoyed reading.

An interesting poem! Mothers are always the best welcoming their daughters with such warmth. Tears of regret so well handled by the Mother's smile and words of great comfort -It will grow, my love!
