From the shackles of oppression,
From a land reeking of the smell of blood
They flee, bloodied and bruised.

A touching poem on Refugees. Only a person who has no home knows the comfort of a home Only a wanderer who walks under the heat of open skies knows the value of a shaded hamlet. But they have a single identity They are all REFUGEES driven by war They have a single destination A promised land of nowhere! Beautifully written Valsa, in the wonderful style of Valsa as Akhtar Sahab says. :) A sure 10+++

Thank you Geeta! Only when we are deprived of something, we begin to count its value....! We all fail to think of the homeless when we mourn over the inconveniences of our own comfortable dwelling

A heart felt poem on the sad predicament of these poor exhausted people. I can only imagine what it may be like to lose my home and everything familiar to me. To flee taking what little I had, to leave behind what I love the most that cannot be taken....so heartbreaking. I'm hoping our country can welcome more refugees and offer them peace in a new safe home here. A resounding ten for an eye-opening reminder to continue to speak for these poor people.

Thank you so much Simone! I appreciate your ability to step into the shoes of these abandoned people and feel deep for them.......! It is so miserable for them to lose everything all of a sudden and move to a destination totally unknown to them where they are not sure if they would be welcomed or not. It is like uprooting a tree to rot in the sun and rain or if luck favors, to be planted in a new soil! This comment shows your sensitivity and compassion!

Words cannot describe the agony they are in Pawns in a political game no one can win Those involved in the conflict do not seem to care Those with the powers preferred to be unaware Through torturous terrain and hearts filled with despair Their torment and their pain you have made us aware Thank you Valsa, for this powerful write.

Wow...... wonderful comment Loke! Thanks a lot! When human conscience has gone into the drain The refugee crisis is leaving an unerasable stain To capture their plight when I labored in vain In a few words, you have summarized their pain

Trotting over dried up dreams Leaving love to die, identity to dissolve Powerful words to put the reality clearly for everyone to understand the situation. Hope lies ahead for them.

Yes, even in such a turbulent situation, what sustains them may be hope.....! If that also is lost, their survival becomes so difficult! Thanks for your comment Tirupathi sir!

The flee of refugees from darkness of violence and from the shackless of oppression on bloodied and burised is really a painful sight. It reveals the inhumanity of the war wrenched people. If the evil mentality of the people won't be changed, then the war, oppression, hubbub and violence will not be seized and we can't get peace. Dear madam, you have heartfeltly inscribed the scenes of refugees with high penmanship. Full vote.

In a war mongering world, it is so hard to maintain peace. Unless there is a radical change of heart, war and rebellion will continue. Hatred should be replaced by love. Then and then only, we can see the refugee influx coming to an end. Thank you Kumaramani sir for your thoughtful comment!

What can we poor poets do? Except write the truth Have compassion but unfortunately That won't change Man's evil hue. At least you, Valsa tried to cry out against injustice with this wonderful poem so full of truth and compassion. Counts for a lot! Thank you

Yes, Sandra! You are absolutely right! Unless there is a change of attitude in those who wield power, we poets can do nothing except make men feel the intensity of a problem through our humble write. Thanks for your sweet words!

These refugees, wherever they are from, fleeing until either they fall dead on the way or muffled cries die down and safely feeling creeps in. Very sensational indeed, and extremely touching too. Picture adds in tons to the concept. Thanks Valsa for sharing a poem of humane values. X
