Refugee Mother And Child is one of those poems which deal with hunger, poverty, scarcity of food, crisis and malnutrition against the backdrop of a nation raked by drought and famine otherwise the things would not have been so as these are supposed to be telling upon and taking a toll over. Chinua, a poet from Nigeria brings down the whole picture before the eyes as a witness of those African nations which are facing acute food crisis. If this be the situation, how to take to in terms of holy spirit? Misfortune and bad days are the worst of all. The same mother is here under trouble and this very trouble is but a matter of existence and survival. Poverty is the mother of all, death and disease and misfortune. The skeleton-ed mother, how will she breastfeed the dying child? The poor mother with the poor child is really very, very pathetic scene to be felt herein. The pain of Africa none has come to feel and understand. The child which should have sucked milk and medicated food is dying after sucking the tears.
a heart touching poem especially the lines of the poem
