Reflective Journeys Poem by Gary James Smith

Reflective Journeys

Rating: 5.0

Reflective Journeys

I've often gone on reflective journeys
To the land of "what might have been"
And rehashed all the scenarios
Of the situations back then
If only I could have done this or that
When there were possibilities
The reprogramming begins to set up
I'm sure we have all had these

God gives us grace to sustain a loss
That is near and dear to us
We remember and reflect
on the times
And our memory takes a pause
What would it have taken to break the chains
That held our loved one so
And see release and happiness
Now only God will know

Lord protect my heart from hardening
To what I should hold dear
An association of love and fellowship
With family You've given me here
To express as best as I can
With what grace You've given me
From a heart having been forgiven
That can love now genuinely!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
