I really did enjoy this rumination of childhood memories so well expressed for boy or girl. Read mine – I Cannot Return – Adeline

So this is a beautiful, yet wistful, and, yes, a little sad. I love 'mirror' poems (self portrait) . Often insightful and usually, layered, they reveal much more than a flat reflection. I can envision a man looking at himself in the water and seeing his moving reflection while he contemplates lost youth and innocence. The writing style here, which is tight and short, indicates a river flowing below it. Great use of reflective imagery (photographs, water (shallow) ... Rain or stream) , alliteration. This is a good one... Terse and restrained.
