It's the nature of SIMPLE THINGS to be there and respond to us when we finally notice their value. They're patient: they know our hour of need will come and we will turn to them for sustenance. And they will bear no grudge.Your poem gives me confidence the three sentences are just wrote are true! Rilke wrote something comparable in his Ninth Elegy: ... What if we are here just to say: HOUSE, / BRIDGE, FOUNTAIN, FRUIT, WINDOW - / but for such saying as things themselves never hoped so intensely to be. That is the wonder of the poetry of simple speech and complex purpose! !
