Reed Poem by Angela Bontle Ditumiso

Reed

In sorrow
I was drowning
Arms flailing
Groping at anything
That could buy me
One more second

You were a reed
Floating
On the ocean's tongue
A little faith I had
When I grabbed you
A little faith I had
Hoping you'd save me
And there's no sense
In this
I've tried to find logic
In how
A little reed
Skinny and lifeless
Saved me
