Richard Wiodarski! ! ! I can almost picture you in a maid's uniform with a duster in your hand chuckling like mad! ! ! I am pleased to make my friends laugh- sometimes it's what gets us through a day! ! ! And I want my dear friends to get through their day with a smile in their heart- even if that day it is just one corner of their heart
Edward, We do indeed need each other- -how would a site like PoemHunter work if we were the only member! ! !
Friendship! ! ! We need each other. Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
What a hoot! Spring cleaning and redecorating will never be the same anymore! And whenever I'm doing those tasks, I'll be thinking of this poem. And laughing! And looking around for my friends too! I'm still laughing, Susan! Thx for the comic relief in these serious times.
Poem about appreciating and honoring friendship. But the loss one feels when that friend has departed. But only fond memories and how even fond memories are cherishable.
just my brand of humor at work here- -I make a huge mess when I am redecorating so much so I could lose a friend in the mess!
This is my second visit to this poem due to its attraction towards readers. I like to read it over and over again. I eulogize your way of presentation and penmanship. It is really a beautiful poem. Thank u once again.
Kumarmani! ! ! I'm glad you like this light-hearted poem that turns a bit serious in the last line! Thank you for revisiting poems- this tells me a lot about the poems I write!
The title Redecorating The Circle Of Life itself is fascinating already.... :)
Hey, Yiyan, thank you. I do try to write a title that will draw the reader as well as fit the contents of the poem. Sometimes that is rather difficult to accomplish!
A lighthearted poem that brings a truth and a hearty giggle. I hope your friend turns up safe and sound.... it may be a while.. good friends are hard to find.10+
That is exactly the reaction I wanted from this ball of fluff with a kernel of truth in the center! Thank you, treasured friend and reader!
A poem on friendship with humour has been Inscribed eloquently. Each and every line is interesting to read. The last two lines are meaningful. :) Thanks.
Thank you! I really loved my play on words in the last line! ! My sense of humor is so weird at times... I like to ler off a little of the tension by writing a bit of humor and it pleases me when it brings a smile to a reader's face.
Brought a chuckle to my lips. I'm still having a hard time finding my good friends. I guess some of them took off with the furniture. Last two lines are brilliant.
Exactly the response I was hoping to hear! And your comment about your friends made me chuckle. Sorry you had friends that would run off with your couch and T.V.- -in my neck of the woods we'd call them either ex-friends of burglars. ;)
I suggest...look under the couch cushion, friends are never lost, they are just missing in action; -) , wonderful and unique poetry Susan, as only you can do
Oh, my, gosh! ! ! ! How did you know? She was snuggled under the cushion with Jack Daniels as happy and sassy as could be! Last time I ask her over to help me move furniture.... ;)
This is Surreal, not just humor but surreal humor. The tone of matter-of-fact realization you may never find her created in me a restlessness. That could ME that just vanished without a trace! I've been yanked out of the Circle of Life. It's so unfair! Why must I be the one who has to teach people - Life isn't fair?
My dear Daniel, you need not think that. You could never vanish without a hue and cry arising among your friends and family and poets. And you will live forever in our hearts and in your most excellent poetry. Now buckle down and write some more of them! After all, only the best should teach the rest... ;)
You know about four months ago I had a niece... The first place she was brought into was the living room... Four months later, reading this poem, it reminds me of the fact that people are born and brought into the living room for others to look at them, and when they die - the same almost. Our lives are arranged into this circle of sort - happiness is born in the same place (our tiny little beautiful hearts) and then die right there, leaving behind what is perhaps the sole 'durable' emotion (can't remember the proper word, perhaps immortal? Humans are mortal though, and so are emotions) . A beautiful poem dear Susan. May we all, in both births and deaths find what is significant - a good life worth living. Thank you for the poem dear.
Souren, your reply brought me to tears. Your comment is so much worthier to be made into a poem than my little attempt at humor. Please do turn your comment into a poem- -it talks about important things, things we would do well to remember as we go through our days. I think you already have found what is significant - -a good life worth living and may you always be so blessed. Please do consider turning this into a poem, my dear friend.
'She was an awfully good friend - and dang, good friends are hard to find.' . The whole fun lies in these lines....... Yes, true friends are hard to find....... so keep searching for him/ her! I always like to assume that cats are feminine as they are gentle, cute and passionately loving by nature! So a pet cat in my mind is always a female cat and never a tom cat! Lovely write....! Hope she turns up too soon!
Valsa, you simply charm the heck out of everybody on this site. You are so sensitive to a poem- -you don't mind having a good laugh and you don't mind having your heartstrings thrummed on. One thing about it, a good friend is not hard to find on PH- -her name is Valsa.
Humor follows with essence of friendship. Good friend remains in heart of another friend. Tossing things we hear crying and we feel goodness in memory. A very well crafted poem is shared here with wise vision on expressive and deep friendship....10
Thank you for coming and reading this little poem and commenting on what you saw in it. As you know, it helps us writers to see what the readers see as they read our stuff. Thank you for the 10 as well!
Where there is deep and true love for a friend in particular and friendship in general there is no need to discuss how and in which form it is presented....... Your poem simply reveals how deep this love you had and still have for your friend... herein lies the sublimity and class of the poem..... thanks.
Hi there! ! ! Just a note of interest here- - - my Mother called our Living Room the Circle of Life! ! ! ! ! So true in many dear ways! ! !
An Adorable Poem! ! ! ! ! Love The Way It's Done! ! ! ! ! An Excellent Sense Of Humor In This One! ! ! ! ! Many Smiles Susan! ! ! ! ! Thank You For Sharing This! ! ! ! ! Many Many 10S! ! ! ! ! +++++ Awesome Penning! ! ! ! !
Atta girl! ! ! Have fun with this! ! ! ! You tickle me when you dive into a poem with such a happy face! ! ! !
Neat rendition. A marvelous poem
