Red Wine Poem by Ayokunle Adeleye

Red Wine

Even when modeling is not in one's line
You make the face shine
For it is with you we dine
Oh red wine

You come from the vine
And bear its sign:
'Thou art mine;
My product is thine'

To meals you add zing
And make our hearts sing
Oh sweet thine
Thou art fine!

Known to be good for the heart—
You prevent infarction of its muscles
Recommended for the stomach—
You counter depression and its tussles

Thanks to your constituent polyphenol
You regulate cholesterol—even in the brain
Preventing lipid peroxidation
You eliminate Alzheimer's—keeping us sane

You make the heart of man rejoice
Little wonder you are first choice;
With you a stitch in time saves nine
But you also get reckless ones to cloud nine!
