Reconciliation Poem by Practicing Poetess

Reconciliation

Rating: 5.0

When past and present converge,
After a 15-year intermission in between,
You're trying to make sense of it all,
Trying to make up for lost time,
Starting all over again.
But you can't get back what you lost
You can only deal with the present,
And work with what you have now.

Like the singer Lobo says, Trying to bring back yesterday, there ain't no way. I really enjoy this poem. Don't stop.

Thank you. I don't plan on stopping until my final breath- - As long as someone puts writing materials or a laptop in front of me! : -)

Anything is lost means this has gone inside the past and this is very difficult to bring it back into life gain. We shall realize the importance of time and utilize present time properly. An excellent poem is very well penned.10

Sage advice - remember the past but live for the future. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for replying, Carl! I might add, remember the GOOD past, but try to forget the BAD past, except for any lessons learned from it.

I can identify with this concise poem. I often want to bring back the past in my life, and change it to make a different present. Impossible of course but that still does not stop me regretting and second-guessing myself. A brilliant poem in that respect.
