The mask slips for a moment,
making you aware
of the hidden face,
kept under wraps
or which you refused to see for years,
and then suddenly there is
no chance of misrecognizing it,
the face of a bewildering stranger,
after aeons of knowing them.
Post that epiphany nothing
and no one remains the same,
And just like that,
you grow up.
