That night the moon was suspended ominously low in the darkened sky,
Tall trees, hedges and a pub crowded me in on every side,

my dream crashing down like the waves of the sea, lovely metaphor tis it is and the comments you ive r wonderfuller too o poetess
It is experienced that moon affects the earth. Tides we see in the oceans and human body with water as its main constituent is also affected. I see it as if the dutiful moon when sees a tide in the human hearts, it's relieved by the clouds taking over the responsibility of awaking love on the earth. A beautiful poem loved it.
Poetess, it is your fantastic and touching as well composition at night background and moonlit environment, at this situation to remember someone or recall emories is a great imaginative, romantic scene, well done, thanks for sharing the poem with us, ++++++++++++++++ 10
'The stillness of not knowing' - oh, what a wonderful expression of ignorance that sometimes makes one feel void! The poem, apparently of pain and frustration from rejection, ends with an inspiration: 'His reckless words taught me to live and not to die'. Though I am saddened by the pain so eloquently expressed in the poem, yet I am also inspired by the grim determination of the poetess not to be cowed down by the 'reckless words hurled at her and to move on leaving them aside.
This is a very well rounded poem, Hazel. Your title entices the reader to read it. And the setting for this poem is so real that I truly am there standing in a moonlit scene so still and shadowed by bushes, trees, and the pub... where darkness is often found. The story in this poem compels the reader onward, feeling the distress of the woman, feeling her pain, despising the man. 10++++++++++++++++++ and onto my fav list, my dear friend
Somehow when I read your poetry, I feel I’m with a friend! your descriptive lines bring me into your world, as in a great movie...when you are hurt, I am hurt! Pity the one whom missed out on such a child of nature as yourself! You my friend are a Poetess of a special joy, a kindred spirit! ! Great poem! ! !
Beautiful poem ending with inspiring message...His reckless words taught me to live and not to die. Very true said, one may feel shattered after discovering lies, but standing upright on whatever circumstances may be is the true essence of life lived.
When moon is suspended in darkened sky this motivates mind and gives an amazing effect. Sometimes this. appears and sometimes this disappears. Every answer of life we get in silence and we realize truth of reality in nature and also in life. We have to live in truth not in lie. There is no need to think to die rather we need to live. An excellent thoughtful poem is brilliantly penned...10
With understanding you grasp the setting of this poem, with principle you offer gold as advice, caution as silver! What a testimony as to the greatness of this poem in that it pulls you in to offer help! ! I felt the same tendency! Once in a blue moon a poem this good is written! !
Well articulated piece of craft work... Going home with my dream crashing down like the waves of the sea A very special write rendering broken hopes and dreams of being truly loved only to be tormented by lies of his reckless words. I vote 10+++
