Touched by a scene that nature etched,
An artist opts to make a sketch.
He might just make a copy of some worth,
Or else make it alive in a new birth.
A good artist will not take all there is,
But add new things. Bring in new breeze.
First, the nature's scene touches him,
To that he now adds his own dream.
This artist might well have been from poets,
Who, no more than a pen portrait translates,
And a translation gets new birth—
Same soul in a new body well its worth!
This is every poet's fond dream and goal,
Let him at times fall short by a long pole.

A good artist will not take all there is, But add new things. Bring in new breeze. First, the nature's scene touches him, To that he now adds his own dream......so touching and true. Beautiful poem with nice concluding. Thank you Pathak sir.
I am glad that you have such lovely comments on this poem. Yes, even translations should and can create new things. Thanks
