Rebirth Poem by Edward Kofi Louis

Rebirth

You don't care about me in this life again,
But you still want me back on this love;
However, i am still at the dark end of the street,
And, i need someone to care for me for who i am.

Try to remember me for all that i did for you,
And, of all the help that i gave you to become who you are today;
Because, i did my best for you!
And, there comes a time that you will remember me.

Today you have a nice house and a garden;
But, i am still someone's child at the dark end of the street!
Since my parents gave birth to me.
The way you treated me was like the rhythm and blues of life at times;
However, i will not give on my dreams!
Because, Rome was not built in a day.

Life is like a grasshopper on the grass at times!
But, the burning spear is now found in the land of 'Patrice Lumumba';
Because, you've turned your back on me.
My rebirth!
I am here today to tell you my mind;
Because, i will never give up on my dream to become somebody in the near future.
