Of your metaphors for poetry, I choose 'A ripple in the brackish fluid of consciousness'. The flowing stream of consciousness is what gives you poems if you listen and think hard enough. It also inspires good revisions, better wording, I think.

I'm thinking of the first great poets of our own world.The greeks from the 7th cent. b.d.to the fourth cent.It is they who formed allvalues of what we call greek miracle.Everything was written as a poet.The poets were those who invented the world of myths, the world of philosophy the world of the laws for the new arising states.Our whole world is based upon that poesy.That is poesy, the perception of the natural world and the invention of the expansion of the new human's world.Poets are the ones who explain and imagine old and new world.//when they can not play their role the world is suffering of stagnation.

Poetry is just a starry night looking down at us..! ! Poetry is other way to communicate with lover ones and the world.

Poetry has multi dimensions. It can encompass a lot of things! Umpteen things can thrill a poet's heart! Thus anything can be the subject of a poem....... Yet it is so hard to define a poem. Somehow poetry revolves round life. Just as life is complex with light and shade, poetry is also complex and a poet tries to fathom into the mysteries of life as best as he can! You have succeeded to a great extent in defining poetry, showing its vast scope and sweep! Lovely write!

An unanswerable question you have posed - what is poetry? Perhaps it's our journey through intellect and imagination mingled with feelings and emotions altogether. We poets have an interior universe from which we experience life, there we find the darkness of eventuality and unknowingness, always seeking questions about the reality of life and writing them into poems From experiences we learn about these mysteries, surprising ourselves with our innate knowledge. Imagery of your poem through nature and moments of life are what gave rise to my thinking process, is that poetry, I wonder?
