Real Love Poem by Simbarashe Raymond Mudukuti

Real Love

This ain't true
At the end either I'm going to betray you or you will betray me
But either way one of us is a traitor of love
Don't get the wrong idea
I do trust you
But has it ever occurred to you that one day we will meet our maker
I was hoping it would be me first
I can't bare the pain of looking at your lifeless body
Trying to figure out what I will do next
What about the kids
How will one of us raise them without the other?
The idea of a perfect family
But you must be first
I don't want to give you the pain unquenched
If I can't bare the pain, can you?
This is a true burden
I must betray you now so that I can save us both from future pain
The real life pain
The pain you never recover from
If I wave goodbye now you will heal
Farewell my love
I can't leave you with reason
I will just walk out of your life changing my all
Starting now
At least you can blame me
That way I will have saved us both
