Ready To Go, But? Poem by Mainak Chatterjee

Ready To Go, But?

Rating: 5.0

I witnessed silently
all the yellowish old leaves
falling one after another
waiting anxiously for my turn

The silent and indifferent tree
intoxicated with zeal of new beginning,
ready to abandon old ties,
start afresh

I don't long for a gentle breeze
soothing my pain
I pray for that blowing wind
relieving me from unwanted existence

I know, I should just go away
making way for new tender green leaf
but except waiting for that savior wind
tell me, what else can I do?
