Reading Enlightens Poem by Phillip Nine Mafunga

I'm dead set
That no amount of ism can interest me
Or any politically correct language, excite me
Fact is that the dead can't sustain the living
But the present generation draws from obscure generations down the bloodlines

DNA is unchangeable
DNA is corruptible
But only the born again will survive the onslaught
Even the marauding lord of darkness
Above all, reading enlightens and even the Word, sustains!
