I'm very grateful for this poem, and proud of it also. It accompanies me through the day. One copy is next to my Reading Chair (It's good to have one place you read and do nothing else) and another copy is a bookmark in the major book I; am, reading - right now it's a book about WALT WHITMAN with a great subtitle SHAMANISM, SPIRITUAL, DEMOCRACY AND THE WORLD SOUL, . The first few weeks I had it, I couldn't get into it, however much I wanted, since your Poem's Therapy, I have been reading consistently 20-30 pages perday

This haiku provides just the right encouragement I will need to accomplish my daily reading. The last line especially will give me the boost to start reading and stay with it because it suggests the magic of mental travel. It reminds me of Emily Dickinson's metaphor THERE IS NO FRIGATE LIKE A BOOK TO TAKE US TO PLACES FAR AWAY. And the opening line is the perfect prod for me because I love words and it reminds what you love is here for the taking, but you have to do the taking! I already wrote your poem on an index card and set on the table by my reading chair. Work your magic READING poem!
