Reaching Groundward Poem by Denis Mair

Reaching Groundward

Intimations of ongoing creation reach us every moment because it has flung out a bouquet of appetites to multiply anticipations. Beyond all anticipation, its many-mouthed purse holds layered potencies that will never be nailed down. High stakes in the game of participation are summed up in joy and pain. All the intricate delicate adjustments cling together tenaciously; they are miraculously hurled forward to make the living fabric of time. Even a wasteland sets a stage for forays of growth. Happenings arise and dissipate like waves on the ocean of Being, so how could it ever offer a resting place for dreams? Yet it does! All living things come to us bedewed by Being. To embrace a living thing, with its complicated origins, always takes us further into Being.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

I just love the line, ’ Its many-mouthed purse holds layered potencies that will never be nailed down.' That really resonated with me and it was a new way to conceptualizing Earth like a purse, with many layers, pockets. The final line pulling this philosophical write together showed a speaker embracing the concept of being. I wrote more, but PH would let me include.
