i assumed two things. the character telling the story is a man. and the author, ramona, is a woman. am i correct? if i am, what the first commenter writes is wrong....i think. but with the prevalence of non-heterosexual personalities being displayed more openly these days, what do i know for sure? ? yes, the poem does seem a bit harsh, but who am i to judge; well, i hope i'm a somewhat reasonable person, so i tend to agree with the gist of shaun's comment. but strictly as song lyrics or a poem, i think it should be allowed....to be heard...by consenting adults! thanks for sharing.

Perhaps we should bring back cutting off hands for stealing also, child labour and burning at the stake. Get real dude. Choose your life, let her choose hers. Change your environment, create for you, leave others to be and do their thing. Just walk away with dignity, don't become the devil. Shaun.
