This poem was very real. I'm sorry this pain has been something you've been through. I hope you're okay. Thank you for being so honest and so real.

You are a gifted poet and your poem surely resonates with many young women who face the same plight. I applaud you for finding the words to express the pain. I also want to tell you if you don't know already that men who prey upon children for their own sexual gratification are sick, demented lowlifes. They are not fathers- they are monsters. Monsters who are afraid of the light. And the truth is light. The only way to slay the monster is expose them to the light/truth. Tell your mother. Tell anyone. Tell anyone and everyone. A poem is cathartic but it is only the first step to your freedom. Free yourself from your prison by exposing your monster for who he is to the world that will surely condemn him for his actions. He may look like your father but the moment he touched you in that way he stopped being one. You owe him nothing. He owes you everything. Everything he took away from you - Your childhood, your innocence, your peace of mind, your future. And for that he must pay. God Bless you and keep writing. (Report)
