Random Thoughts Poem by Samantha Stough

Random Thoughts

Through a hoop and over the moon
Go to Jupiter and be back by noon
Out of the bag and like a rocket soaring,
Your thoughts progress, for reality is boring
Around the corner and back again
Eyes of a liar, embrace of a friend
Down the hatch and out of the smoke,
Chill of a winter, warmth of a cloak
Breath of the beast, voice of a siren
We’re all going mad, there’s no denyin’
Itch of the plague, beauty of the brain
Stomp of a giant with the kiss of rain
Like a dropp of the hat or the flip of a switch,
It could be the love of a mother, or the slap from a witch
Death in the streets, shop full of sweets
Not truly looking at the people you meet
Dance across the milky way, and jump over the candle stick
Follow the leader and fall for a trick
Writing on the walls, and painting the world with each step
We will never remember, but cease to forget
Cats and dogs, birds and bees,
Emotion and fate, wants and needs
Over the hill and through the woods
Losing distinction of what’s bad and good
Let’s draw a line between yours and mine,
While the innocent fall off the edge of time

I enjoyed reading your three poems. This one is the best with good thoughts and rhyme. Keep writing.
