Ram Navami, It's Rama's Day Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

Ram Navami, It's Rama's Day

Ram Navami,
Rama's Day,
The birthday celebrations calling you,
The small idols of Rama and Sita
With Lakshman, Shatrughan and Bharata
Calling you,
Hanuman standing with the hill
And his heart with
Rama-Sita writ upon
And the red, saffron flags fluttering,
Telling of new spirit, new verve

Somewhere the sitting with Rama-Sita continuing
And the dhuna casting a spell over
With musical incantation,
Somewhere processions going on
And somewhere the folk theatres gearing up to present
The gala Ramleelas
In vernaculars.
