The poem weaves a fascinating scene of rain which is as blissful for the man as it is for the earth after a long dry spell. Thanks, Bharati ji. This is so amazing. I quote a few lines: Rain, Rain! ! / Fall in drops / On the parched earth And fill the cracks / With your gift abundance. Like blood in vessels / Fill the ponds and rivers
A nice poem with a sweet flow. Like to read again and again. Loved it.
Reading the poem my mind goes to rains likely to enter its Indian phase at Kerala shortly. It must be a rare soul that would not like rains, I wonder. I too await with 'eager heart'.
Rain, Rain! ! Fall in drops On the parched earth That is thirsty for years And wait for your coming With eager heart.......touching beginning with great hope. This is really a beautiful poem on rain. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, Sir, for your valuable appreciative comment.I am really grateful.
Hi Bharati, Lovely poem... You wrote, The scorching Summer is here in Odisha. And there is wait for Rain 's arrival. Same here in Kerala. Our well has dried up leaving my garden to perish...So we too wait for the raingod’s mercy... And the MetMan says that she is late this year. In all the years I remember, the monsoon has visited us on the 01st June. This year it is expected on the 06th...
Bharati, this is a wonderful poem on Rain, so beautifully penned by you. Rain is the elixir for Mother Earth. After a scorching summer, rain is welcomed with open arms by one and all.
Thank you so much Madam Dr.Radhakrishna Menon for your lovely comment.Summer season is too hot in Odisha and it seems Summer season is gradually extending because of climate change. In some places it is above 45 degree celsius. Rain comes in the last part of June.or early July.
Absolutely wonderful! ! Rain is full of mercy..it is a mother’s love..it is life seeking a resting place, I see all of this in your poem..it embraces the soul! ! This will no doubt be poem of the day, I’m sure of it..to my favorites!
A wonderful piece of work that emanates from the pragmatic experiences of lives more specifically in this specific ambience! Liked the second stanza most! A poem written from heart basing upon lives in entire part of state when people are eager to get a relief from the scorching heat of the blazing sun....so well penned...10
I must thank you profusely for your wonderful feedback on the poem and highly rating it.
Reading this, Bharati, I think immediately of my own prayers for rain—which I’ve been thinking about lately as this is our monsoon season and, so far, we’ve had just one significant rainfall. Perhaps you’ve read them already. The two titles that come to mind right away are “Rain Prayer” and “ Refresh, O God.” -Glen
