The poem nicely captures the 'The rain.... But a torrential fall' and the desperation of a fisherman in its wake. Centered around an insignificant looking incident, it is profound in its emotional touch. Thanks, Akham ji.

Poor farmer! How can you claim those fishes as yours? ..run o farmer........ the fish in the pond and the farmer's thought that all belongs to me and suddenly comes the rain pouring in heavily.. Fish in the pond escapes..... a very fine example you present to explain exploitation..... thank u dear poet. tony

We need rain, espicially it is very needful for farmers. Rain brings both happiness and sadness. Dear Akham, you have so nicely depicted this poem with both corners. Thanks for sharing.10

very nice poem. Linking of rivers will solve the water scarcity and more than abundance. Many of the rivers in south India run dry for at least 4/5 months. I saw in T, V, How people in Assam suffer my sympathies are with them.

I have seen it in Bangla Desh, during heavy rains a pond is overflowed and fish run away. A lovely observation of the poet. Great work.

Wonderful poem, It's a great sadness that the world is so unequal as the divide between rich and poor gets bigger.
