Radiotherapy - In That Lonely Place Poem by Royston Nella

Radiotherapy - In That Lonely Place

It's a lonely place that I go to each day
to let radiotherapy have its way.
I sit silently waiting for my call
and then lay still, exposed before them all.

They twist and turn me to get me in place,
and then I watch them as they exit in haste,
leaving me lying there all on my own,
waiting and watching, listening. Alone.

But I realised that Jesus was there
as silently I breathed out my prayer,
'I will never leave you, my dear, ' He said,
and laid down beside me upon that bed.
