Rabbit's Foot Poem by Dean Meredith

Rabbit's Foot

So I said
I have nothing to say
When I thought of her
And me in our mirror
Not knowing who reflected who
As though we were one
Rainbow of infinite colour
And her first word
Was my last word
When she haunts me
In that lovers' bed
Of innocence and loss
She was my kryptonite
Over and over
All cute & sassy
Quivering with anticipation
My lucky white rabbit
Twitching her toes & nose
And my young heart
Beating only for her
With our blood of love
Pumping right through us
In her pristine sheets
In her mum & dad's
Great big house
Up in them hills
Overlooking the city
And pushing me away
