Robert Bly introduced me to translations of Ghalib. And in this poem, as in others, he reminds me of people I’ve met who seem constitutionally unhappy. Is the you he addresses God? If so, this poem resembles the cries of biblical psalmists who project their complaints to the Almighty and implore God to wake up to their troubles. -GK

The laconic marksman of passion and love keeps the soul in constant anguish. I like the last line, 'Are you a saint, of drunk as usual? '

He makes his case with such poetry running out of his pen- he is a very captivating poet, I cannot just read his words and move on- -his point of view demands to be considered whether you want to or not- he is the meaning of intriguing
