Quit'cher Griping! Poem by Richard D Remler

Quit'cher Griping!

........

Ah, quit your griping!
Why you mad?
Things can't really
Be that bad.

So, you've been carrying
A heavy load,
And you found a
Stumble in the road.

But we learn from
Every stumble there.
We learn to tread
Ahead with care.

We learn of patience
To which we
Were blind,
And Persistence
Of the grandest kind!

They make us stronger,
That's the truth.
And we grow a little
In the tooth.

Things could be better,
Ah, you bet!
But it could be worse!
Don't you forget.

We've all been through
The ringer, true.
So fess up,
This isn't all that new!

Seems silly to stand
There and crow
That you've never
Ever
Stubbed a toe!

So, quit your griping,
And don't you whine.
Bellyaching just
Wastes time.

Complaining only
Gets you gray,
And glooms the sun
Right from the day.

The road ahead
Is gonna be
Troublesome,
I guarantee...

Mixed in with
Bits of freckled joy,
A smile, or two,
Or three,
You'll see!

There'll be good times,
There'll be bad.
And you'll be
Frumply, grumply
Mad...

But there will also
Be those days
That will shine
In oh, so many ways

You'll find
Life lives its own
Unique design

When we live it
One day
At a time.
