Question Everything Poem by Skylark Woodrow

Question Everything

I'm here to make a difference,
To bring about change,
Start a revolution,
Tell the truth about the lies they proclaim.
Things aren't as they seem,
What we're being told doesn't make any sense.
Why do we follow?
Why do we not question?
We have stopped thinking for ourselves,
Just going through life like automatons,
Just obeying the whims of our masters.
The vibrant individuality is fading into grey,
Faces becoming indistinguishable from one another,
Movement synchronized into the same monotonous action.
Blind obedience can be a dangerous thing,
As well as following without calling into question their reasoning.
Why are things the way they are?
Why do we do what we do?
Could there be a better way?
Very few things are ever set in stone,
What seemed right at one time may be wrong at another.
New discoveries are made day after day;
Challenging the things of the past.
When we are told something that doesn't seem right we must challenge it!
No one is always right,
Everyone will make mistakes and be wrong at various moments throughout their life.
It is our job to find and fix those mistakes;
Using such occurrences as opportunities to learn from one another,
And better the world around us.
