Queen Of Cups Poem by John Fenton Mcleish

Queen Of Cups

There have been no world wars since queens did reign
One must give credit where credit is due
But now her majesties spirit does wane
And our future does approach right on cue

Maybe she isn't that bad after all
If one were to compare what could have been
It is true her strength has taken a fall
Yet stronger than any king I have seen

Elizabeth the first, Victoria
From which the greatest empire did arise
The sun never sets on brittania
Her magnificence sure to mesmerize

Why is it when a king sits on the thrown
Into perils of darkness we are thrown
