Queen Elizabeth The 2nd - Will There Ever Be A Queen As Majestic As Her? Poem by Bernedita Rosinha Pinto

Queen Elizabeth The 2nd - Will There Ever Be A Queen As Majestic As Her?

O' to be the Queen of England for seventy years
and to be loved and respected by her people
who grieve for her in every town and city so deeply,
was it not her endearment that made her their true friend?

O' to live those ninety-six years of royal life
so blessed with all comforts and luxuries
so blessed with reign and power,
yet so humble and gentle in her words was she;
was it not that royalty had also bequeathed humility in her?

O' to run and play; and to grow up in those castles
with joy and delight as a child
and then go on to be the successor to her father;
was it not the privilege of her birthright to have it?
Yet, devotion to her commitments and to her people
were so seamless when she reigned as a queen.

O' to live in so those palaces in her lifetime
and care for the colonies and territories she once ruled,
was it not that dynasty assigned upon her a duty
which she never refrained from or abandoned
yet she let them have their freedom
as years and time passed
and let independence fly its flag over their countries?

O' to be a queen when young and then proceed
to adhere to those lifelong commitments to her country,
was it not her own nobility that invoked in her
a sense of devotion to her royal obligations
to promote a kingdom well nurtured by love and unity?

O' to be so considerate to the situations of her family
and let them live so freely and happily
with no hate or repulsion;
was it not her own wonder and tolerance
that made her win appreciation
from her friends, her family and her people?

O' to be loved and admired by the whole world
for all the situations that she handled so calmly
with tact and discretion so appreciative;
was it not her own wonder and tolerance
that made her win global appreciation?

O' to be a monarch and to offer endless solidarity
to all those who resided in her kingdom and her past colonies;
was it not her respect for humanity
that she encouraged every person to achieve his happiness
that even their generations prospered
and remained grateful to her forever?

O' to live and face the various years of life
and tackle those various confrontations with time
without losing courage and bravery
yet keep her smile going when tough times passed;
was it not her own strength and courage
that she could maintain her poise and peace
through all the waves of adversities with fortitude?

O' to be that queen who was so much loved
and respected by her people,
was it not her own kindness and compassion
that empowered people to love her and respect her
not only for the grandeur or for the splendor she beheld,
not only for her magnificence or for her graciousness alone
but for all that she offered to make everyone's life so valuable!
