Que Sera Of Us Poem by Oluwatosin Thomas

Que Sera Of Us

I
Moonlit ripples and midnight glow.
Drunk on laughter,
Like the sharp perfume of spilled vodka after.
But the truth
I strayed...
Now I stagger through guilt,
Each step a wound regret has built.
II
'Leave me, ' you said,
And so I feast on thoughts instead.
Wrestling shadows in my mind,
In mazes memory left behind.
III
My heart hums que sera sera,
While guilt wraps round my mind like a scar.
Our years now echo like a fleeting song,
A love once loud, now gone too long.
IV
You see me to be weak,
I call you "judge."
But all lost in love's grudge.
Anger and violence took the wheel,
And our love boat capsized with no chance to heal.
V
Back and forth,
That's how life flows.
And though we're no longer two,
But in my memories, the haunt continues too.
