At my thatch hut by the stream in the vale --
Atop the vine-wall are born mist clouds frail;
After rain, bamboos are green with new gown;
The mountain range is lovely at sundown;
Cranes come early to rest under the bower;
Slow to fade are many an Autumn flower --
My pupil has swept the grass trail with zest
For you, m' friend, have promised to be my guest!
