Pygmy Slow Loris - Lincoln Park Zoo Poem by Ima Ryma

Pygmy Slow Loris - Lincoln Park Zoo

A pygmy slow loris I be
Here at home in Lincoln Park Zoo.
With my big eyes nocturnally
I do my stuff in dark I do,
Eating mostly insects and plants,
Though slow I can be quick to eat,
Causing a surprise circumstance
For unsuspecting bugs I meet.
Gland secretions from my elbow
Mixed with my saliva do make
For a noxious toxin, and so
Don't mess with me for safety sake.

I may well give a toxic bite
To whomever turned on that light!
