Putting First Poem by Randy McClave

Putting First

If you don't love America then get out
I heard them all scream and shout,
If you are transgender or if you're gay
Then leave the United States now, today.
Then at the gays and the transgenders they cursed,
They screamed, "Put America First! ".

At the immigrants they made a stand
They shouted if you're illegal here leave this land,
You're poor, needy, murderers, rapists and thieves
You are all strangers who deceives.
And as they shouted and mocked and coerced,
They screamed, "Put America First! ".

If you support abortions you're a murderer
Whether you be a him or a her,
You were given that child for a reason
Even if it's from a rape or incest or from a sin.
Even if you end up on the streets or in a hearse,
They screamed, "Put America First! ".

if you're homeless and/or needy or poor
Don't you ever come knocking at our door,
But, if your wealthy we will happily welcome you inside
As you give our country great honor and pride.
And as they did and said their best and worst,
They screamed, "Put America First! ".

If I were walking down the street
And if the poor or needy, or gay or transgender I did meet,
If an illegal immigrant or a Jane Roe I had met
I would not fill their soul with evil, hate or neglect.
I'd give them a prayer and help and food and a drink for thirst,
As I would scream, "Put Christianity first! "
