Pure Love Remains Poem by Yousif Ibrahim Abubaker Abdalla

Pure Love Remains

Being away is something I never reckoned from scratch,
I never absorbed life without you being so virulent.
And being with you is something I miss.
To just hold you nigh and safeguard you from prejudice.
Nobody knows what we've been through,
How much you fell in me, and I'm crazy about you.
There's so much we haven't gotten engaged so much we committed to do.
I don't know how to stash my affections enough.
How hard times taught us much more than we had ever considered.
Deliver your emotions to my heart; keep your word to me, and we will never be apart.
One day, we will be able to be together every day,
And we won't have to unhinge about distance.
So when the time comes,
Undertake me, you'll snitch my hand And be with me.
Hourly as long as we can.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM: I'm a big fan of poetry, literature, and different forms of art. Composing poems is the only outlet for me to express my feelings and cope with life's ups and downs. I devote my spare time to writing, performing, and enjoying poetry at different events and slams. The poem is written on Tuesday,18th June 2024. This poem captures the most of us traverse through life without experiencing the joy of finding true love. In today's world where having a deep connection with another human being becomes increasingly harder, if you are lucky enough to find true love, hold on to it. Don't let it get lost in the clutter that is life. If you find someone special who gets you, who loves you for who you are, love him/her back with everything you have. Because my dear friend, you don't know how lucky you are.
