Puppe* (German dolly)
Puppe is in Berlin.
There is a rag doll
on the platform of Zoo station.
She has the character of pet cat
and plays with the german heart.
That heart is made of iron.
It's got a cage ready for her.
In the heart sleeps a lion
who can't stand cats,
but she still dance.
The lion is a symbol of honesty,
loyalty and strength,
and the cat is ordinary,
fancy, impermanent
and fickle beast,
she continue her dance.
A deceived german heart
say goodbye to she:
"Tanzt Puppe,
Meine Ehre heisst Treue.
Nimm deine Flicken und geh."
(Dance Dolly,
My honor is called fidelity.
Take your stitch and go.)
Puppe is, with
"Heart on the sleeve",
wipe away her tears
and she still dance
on platform of Zoo station,
and waiting for new heart.

Puppe (Njemačka lutkica)
Puppe je u Berlinu.
Na peronu stanice Zoo
stoji lutka od krpe
koja ima lik umiljate mačke
i pleše sa njemačkim srcem.
To srce je od željeza.
Ima spreman kavez za nju.
U srcu spava lav koji
ne podnosi mačke,
ali ona, i dalje, pleše.
Lav je simbol poštenja,
vjernosti i snage,
a mačka je obična
umiljata, nestalna
i prevrtljiva zvijer.
Ona nastavlja svoj ples.
Prevareno njemačko srce
na rastanku reče:
"Tanzt Puppe,
Meine Ehre heisst Treue.
Nimm deine Flicken und geh."
(Pleši Lutkice,
(Moja čast zove se vjernost.
Uzmi svoje krpice i idi.)
Puppe je, "Srcem na rukavu**",
obrisala suze i nastavila je
da pleše na perona stanice Zoo
do nekog, novog srca.
*Puppe - Lutkica (U slengu - njemački)
** Srce na rukavu je izraz za stari engleski
običaj da djevojka i momak koji se vole napišu
ime voljene osobe i zakače papirić sa tim
imenom na rukav.
