Proud, Black, Gifted And Beautiful Evey Poem by Hebert Logerie

Proud, Black, Gifted And Beautiful Evey

You are an inexhaustible stimulus for my soul,
Because you're proud, black, gifted and beautiful.
Ignore the emulous crowds who envy your color.
Phenomenal Evey, you're belle and full of power.

The sun has a manner of painting and decorating
His sons and daughters. You are naturally ravishing
In a world of bias, opprobrious and systemic racism.
Let not the ugliness of the past glares on your prism.

You're unapologetically strong, black and beautiful.
You're politically correct. One needs not employ foul,
Or foredoomed language to chase away the sully rats.

God inspires great poets to scribble. God sends saintly cats,
To annihilate the vicious vermins of this delirious society.
Love is healing your heart and brightening your beauty.

P.S. This poem is inspired by beautiful Evey who has a Jamaican father and a British mother. Miss Evied was discriminated against for being mixed.
