Proportion Mathematical Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Proportion Mathematical

Proportion mathematical; cyclical-bent-propense;
Too cyclical; hence
Turns round and round and
close
As to the donkey round
The watermill; rarely wanders
Does not grasp
The chords of the mass universe
And its heart beating.
Proportion Pure; not cyclical-bent-propense;
Not Too cyclical; hence
Turns round and roundand
Close rarely
As to the donkey round
The watermill; rather wanders
Does not fail to grasp
The chords of the mass universe
And its heart beating.
These two were beating heart to heart
These were in the same lemon
These were in the same orange
Their chords beat together in a
Symphony secret known to them
And to Poet Seers who bent
Ear to lemon
Ear to orange
And heard the beating
And heard the whispering
And heard the trembling
And heard the trembling.
