Prophet Poem by Dr. Erfan K

Prophet

My love
Centuries back
Here I am in a land far off
Mad with your love
Start tracing your footsteps

You are my philosopher
My psychiatrist
Your word counsels me
It does mesmerizing therapy in me
My ideal literary man
Your images and metaphors captivate me
My mystic guru
My dream
My soul's sole companion.
I am your shadow
The eternal enjoyer of your words
I am your likes

I am your Sahabi
They lived with you
And became your shadows
And their heart lit up with your light.

Centuries, centuries back
Being in a far remote land
I too living with you
I am tracing your footsteps from your words.
I am with you
In Arabian deserts
Riding with you in your horse
I am one among your humble listeners
And in your prayers with you
And I too become your shadow
And my heart also lit up with your words
And in my mind
Your image is getting clearer
Then why I am not a Sahabi?

No, I am ‘You'
I am editing myself
I am shedding myself
To be ‘You'.

*Sahabi is a companion of Prophet
