Prometheus Poem by James Gibbons

Prometheus

Told with truth Seething with anger Indistinguishable voices Instantaneous response Senses overwhelmed Suffused blinding righteousness Again and again Yesterday, today Since that time Forgotten in memory When you were berthed Now very much alive Cuddled coddled Unwanted child Unaware, stealthy Hiding, unknown Speaker of violent voices Smoldered scorched Puzzled people Wondered why A lifetime pregnancy Sired by some Unknown pain Rip me open For I would Birth the beast.
