Matthew Arnold didn't shy away from complexity in his work, yet he did not fear to live a simple life of faith either. This poem deserves to be read many times over again. John Boney is right- this author had a great love for God.

icant belive im the only one to comment on this.. im so moved by how much love this man had for god and religion..there was no profit in it. well good night
